If you are a Harry Potter fan, you'll recognize the references. I only read the first 2 books in the series; they got a little dark for me. Anyway...Harry and Weasley are new additions to our home. They are 5 year old brothers. Their former owner is going through some life changes and unfortunately, had to find new homes for his cats (Hermoine was placed in another home). Here they are as sweet kittens:
And here they are adjusting to their new home:
Sorry for the blurry pictures. As you can see, Weasley is acclimating pretty well. He is a sweetie pie and a pretty boy too, if I do say so. He's very affectionate, likes to be petted, even sits on my lap or close by for a spell. Harry, on the other hand, is still very traumatized. He usually hides in our bedroom closet. That has become his 'safe space.' It is a much better choice than behind the washing machine, where he spent his first 3 days. He is allusive. I joked with
Mrs. Staggs that he is using his invisibility cloak! He finds hiding spots I never would have thought of. This picture of him behind our shelves makes me laugh. I bet he's thinking "if I stay really still, maybe they won't see me." Mr. Meander still hasn't seen Harry in full view. So...we're just leaving him alone and letting him make himself known in his own time.
It's nice having pets again. And I feel good that we are providing a home for adult cats. They are so hard to place. Patience is certainly not one of my virtues but maybe that is what Harry and Weasley are going to help teach me. I'll keep you posted!!
